Home inspections of condos are typically “easier” than inspections of single family homes. There is typically less square footage, no basement and no outside worries since the association takes care of that. So, when my very special clients needed me to attend their condo inspection on this sunny Memorial day in the middle of my vacation I thought “piece of cake!”.
Low and behold, we found issues. The heating system cover was off when we got up there, not a huge deal, until we turned it on. The open flame was visible and could be very dangerous. (see the photo) Lesson learned, never brush off a condo inspection and never schedule an inspection on a holiday weekend.
